Just after Easter 2016, Ishirini is visiting Nepal, where they will collaborate with musicians from the Kathmandu University Music Department and Hindu Vidyapeeth School.
The programme we present in this concert is music that we will sing on tour. It includes music of prayers and antiphonal music that reflects the musical traditions found in Nepal.
The concert is raising funds for our partners, the Kathmandu University Music Department, whose buildings were destroyed in the 2015 earthquake. The only university with an ethnomusicology degree in South Asia, the department shares our aims of exploring and sharing different musical traditions.
