Ishirini, Swahili for twenty, is a group of singers from Cambridge originally formed for a tour to Tanzania in 2009. Our musical exchange with rural schools and the nationally-acclaimed Upendo Group choir was met with great enthusiasm and demand for further engagement. We have now performed two concerts in Cambridge, singing repertoire that emphasises the links between different musical cultures. For more information, see our History page.

Forthcoming events

Our next concert is in Netherbury, Dorset, on Saturday, the 10th of April. We’re also delighted to be hosting Upendo Group through a return visit to the UK in July. Ishirini will sing in a reunion joint concert with Upendo on Saturday, the 17th of July in Stapleford, Cambridgeshire.
