As part of our tour to Florence, Ishirini presents a concert of Florentine music, including: lauda (popular carnival tunes with religious texts) from the time of Savonarola’s rule; music from the Medici Codex, a stunning illuminated manuscript held in the library; polyphonic music inspired by Savonarola’s eve-of-execution meditations.
