Música en las montañas, August 2014
Ishirini was delighted to participate in the tenth year of the Música en las Montañas Festival in Las Alpujarras mountains in southern Spain, organised by Cat Jary.
Our performances included a variety of sacred and secular music, by Spanish composers such as Victoria, Guerrero and Morales as well as others such as Tavener, Kodaly and McGarr. We were particularly pleased to be performing the première of a new commission by Alan Charlton, member of the choir, based on fragments of poetry by Lorca.
