Visiting the UK is extremely expensive for Tanzanians. Flights from Tanzania to the UK are even more expensive than those in the opposite direction, and equates to about six times the average monthly salary.
Upendo has raised the funds to visit the UK through several concerts in Tanzania and from sales of their CD. They are hoping to recoup these costs while here so that future profits can be ploughed back into their many philanthropic activities.
Upendo are extremely grateful to the many people who have given so generously of their time and hospitality to welcome them in the UK.
